Attitude Determines Altitude

ATTITUDE DETERMINES ALTITUDE

I woke up early today, excited over all that I
get to do before the clock strikes midnight.
I have responsibilities to fulfill today.
I am important.
My job is to choose what kind of day
I am going to have.

Today I can complain
because the weather is rainy
or I can be thankful that the grass
is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel sad
because I don't have more money or
I can be more grateful
for the many things that I already have.

Today I can grumble about my health
or I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents
didn't give me when I was growing up
or I can feel grateful
that they allowed me to be born.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns
or I can celebrate
that thorns have roses.

Today I can mourn for my lack of friends
or I can excitedly embark upon a quest
to discover new relationships.

Today I can whine
because I have to go to work
or I can shout for joy
because I have a job to do.

Today I can complain
because I have to go to school
or I can eagerly open my mind and fill it
with rich new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmur dejectedly
because I have to do housework
or I can feel honored
because the Lord has provided
shelter for my mind, body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me,
waiting to be shaped.
And here I am, the sculptor
who gets to do the shaping.

What today will be like is up to me.
I'm the one who gets to choose
what kind of day I will have!

One eyed bandits

well, sometime last week, wifey told me that Mama (her's) fell in the bathroom and bruised one of her eyes. kesian. she had to wear sunglasses to the market. heheh imagine that... diva at the marketplace... =D

then last night, when wifey came home from work, she had infection in her right eye. so itz swollen and is watery and well, constantly developing the yellowish-goldish boogie. so this morning we went to see the doctor for some fix. yeah, she got her meds and MC and all. and she's also restricted from holding zara for at least 2 days.

now comes the worrying part. itz ok having to take care of zara by myself but... eye infection, is INFECTIOUS. yeah she can quarantine herself in the room and all. but would it ascertain that me or zara would not get infected?? as Alpha 5 of the Power Rangers would say: "ai yai yai yai yai..."

i know how infectious it is. had it once while in campus. our room is a petri dish of the germ. not sure who got it first but all three of us got infected. how's that? we didnt even share anything- got our own PC, own bunks, we take different subjects... and yet, we share vampire eyes...

hmmm... just hope zara didnt get infected. pity that baby...

Gemuruh jiwa... Semangat membara...

Mood: My favourite song at the moment

Song: Gemuruh
Singer: Faizal Tahir
Album: ?
Genre: Rock

Lyrics:

Bila bertalu rentak di kalbu
Hasrat yang tersirat semakin ku buru
Bila bergema laungan gempita
Harapan bernyala nadiku berganda

Gemuruh jiwa semangat membara
Dari puncak ingin ke angkasa
Berkalungkan bintang berkelipan
Menyerlah jauh dari yang biasa

Bila bertalu rentak di kalbu
Hasrat yang tersirat semakin ku buru
Bila bergema laungan gempita
Harapan bernyala nadiku berganda

Gemuruh jiwa semangat membara
Dari puncak ingin ke angkasa
Berkalungkan bintang berkelipan
Menyerlah jauh dari yang biasa

Ungkapan ini bukan sekadar bermimpi
Segalanya pastikan terbukti nanti

Gemuruh jiwa semangat membara
Dari puncak ingin ke angkasa
Berkalungkan bintang berkelipan
Menyerlah jauh dari yang biasa

My N95 - the unrivaled phone (yet)

so i was reading a friend's blog about his N95. well, he's not really my friend. i dont know this guy. and maybe he doesnt know me either. but he's wifey's course mate back in uni. which makes us campus mates! right?! itz like: "i see u, u see me... owhh... we're from MMU..." ok. what is this weird script??!

so anyways, back to the story. the entry was about his N95 phone. having the same phone and sharing the same scenario just made me feel like dropping an entry of my N95 too ;)

i bought the phone in 2008 at a mobile fair in Cheras. like most users, the reasons for getting this model was its functions that it could deliver - typical voice/video calls, media player, web browser, organiser, 5.0 MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics (this i have to mention ;p), GPS, games, alarm clock, ... etc.  it can practically do almost anything u could expect from a single phone!

thing i like the most is its Symbian OS. just imagine how many apps u could install in there - provided u have enough space in the memory card of coz... i must say, i have installed quite a number of additional apps and im happy with it.

all these things u can do with this phone. do i have any reasons to change to a new phone? not for now...

while it have served me all this time, its housing is already torned. some beating it has endured, heh? :)

also, same case like my friend(?) there, the battery cover could no longer hold the battery in its place- it would just fall off. in contrary to my friend's solution of using tape, i used a different approach of using phone casing. lucky for N95, the casing design just snaps the phone in place, holding the battery cover with it. this way it looks neater and give a professional touch to it.

anyways, here's link to his blog.

i also placed a comment there just sharing my two-cents on the matter:

"cant agree with u more on the superiority of N95. i had the same problem with mine too. what i did, i purchased the leather casing – u know the thingy to cover the phone? (the ori is the one with button)

so basicly it snaps the phone in place, holding the cover to the back of the case and voila! battery problem solved and u look like a businessman :p

ps: corrected by the sales person. the phone exterior is the ‘housing’. the leather/plastic thingy we use to cover the phone is ‘casing’."

Aquaria!!

Once upon a Sunday, Mr. Zul took his family to Aquaria KLCC... a state-of-the-art 60,000 sq. ft. aquarium in the heart of our beautiful (and busy) KL city. -end of intro-
Zara all ready and hyped to go out
so this is... hurmm 2 weeks ago? we went there after deciding that the zoo is just too hot to bring our little puff ball for an outing... well, air cond aside, at least we r sure that there are proper facilities for parents and infants at KLCC. so, thatz y we picked Aquaria :)

started at the entrance, b4 buying the tickets, the staffs insisted that they take your family photo b4 entering. maybe itz just their way of reducing the queue at the ticket booth... or just another way of increasing sales, if u know what i mean... or both. anyway... thatz that...

tickets - free for babies. u get special price if u show them your MyKad. and flat price for senior citizens.
at the piranha aquarium
right after the ticket entrance, there's this red bellied piranha aquarium. then there's a touch and feel section where u can put your hand in the pool and touch/hold the exhibits. i touched almost all of the marine life i can hold in there while wifey had a feel of the 'belangkas'. i dont know what itz called in english. but the staff keep calling it the 'King of Crabs'. so, okie...
baby sand shark
wifey 'cocok'-ing the 'belangkas'
after we've had enough of the touch and feel section, we continued our journey in the land of Aquaria...
electric eel
elephant nose fish? this fish is electric-ky too
electric catfish

Madagascar Hissing Cockroach
Did u know...? the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach is one of the largest species of cockroaches in the world. it is named due its nature of creating hissing sound (usually males) when fighting. this species also, compared to the normal cockroaches we see, is odorless, wingless, and slow.

some seahorses
amazing! the lift brought us to Pulau Redang!
at the Arowana and Arapaima containment
we didnt get to take a good pic with the Arapaima - the biggest freshwater fish in the world. we keep getting blocked every time the fish comes near. itz the fish at the back there. just beside wifey's shoulder.see?

in front of piranha tank
wifey, zara at piranha tank
look carefully... language diversity? ahahah
zara fascinated looking at the fishes
zara got hungry in the tunnel
still feeding zara in the tunnel

at the end of the tour, we landed at the gift shop. got ourselves a fridge magnet as souvenir - chosen by zara. well, we picked 2, and show them to zara. she later reached for one, and that, is our winner! heheh =D all in all, itz a good weekend :)

Dr. H's family makan2

as usual, we'll visit bangi on weekends. atuk and grandma misses little zara :)

kak hany and abg bob is there too. the set is almost complete but fadly and abg sharul could not make it - fadly is incharge of a seminar in campus and bro sharul had to work. so itz all of us minus 2. itz ok... maybe next time round they'll be around.

to cut short *~ yada yada yada ~* that night we had dinner at Pizza San Francisco. the food's great. i'd recommend to try. but, that night im just at the border between healthy and not well. i'm shivering the whole time in there. itz freezing! i can even feel the aircond in the loo! ( <-- tah pape... itu pon nak citer ke?) Ok. ignore that statement. maybe im just not well.

didnt get to take pictures so much. well, everyone's hungry and im shivering. maybe 1 day i'll go back and give a better review. so, thatz... that for now... ;p later!

This is my last plastic bag~!

"This is my last plastic bag". thatz whatz written on Carrefour plastic bags nowadays. somehow i find this approach very effective in leaving an impact and creating users' awareness on saving/preserving earth. i am into this "save our planet" myself and this statement just gave me the urge to write this entry.

not that im definitely not having anymore plastic bags when i shop for groceries, coz sometimes i forgot to bring the reusable bags, but i do like their approach of educating consumers toward preserving our green planet... or saving dolphins in that matter.

then there's also the Selangor's "No Plastic Bag Day Campaign" where the Selangor government declared its plans to make every Saturday a plastic bag-free day. customers who insist on having plastic bags are imposed 10 or 20 cents per bag. fair enough i guess... if not, most people wouldn't bother about the environment. this initiative now helps enforce the use of reusable shopping bags or at least educate or encourage people to do so. hmm... good idea...

having shop at various supermarkets, it seems that other retailers are also taking part in the campaign - Tesco, Jusco, Giant, Ikea, Cold Storage, 7-11, ... etc. Kudos to that that!

all this in place... so, how about it? let's join in the campaign to save our planet!

recycle. use reusable bags!
